Ethics and Operating Procedures for the Radio Amateur

As a supplement to RAWNY’s Amateur Radio licences classes, check out the following article published by the IARU regarding operating procedures and etiquette while on the air. Often, we overlook just exactly HOW amateur radio operators should present themselves on the air. Once we receive our license, many of us do one of two things: stare at the newly purchased gear in our shack and get petrified about making that first contact… or pick up the mic (or a key) and start talking without the first clue if what we’re doing is actually correct. With regards to Amateur Radio, on-air experience is indeed the best teacher.  Hopefully, this article will help you on your way to understanding how to present your station in the best way.
